My methodology is one of partnership on your journey of personal discovery. The personal discovery always precedes professional discovery because who you are governs what you do.
A Safe and Painless Process
Since my philosophy is thought based rather than behavior based, you will learn about and experience your own clear state of mind. You won't need to dredge up the past, learn mantras or techniques. And you won't be judged.
Elements of the Methodology
LISTENING
I listen to you rather than the other way around. I will listen for clarity not only about your circumstances, but more importantly, what you make of those circumstances. You will also learn to listen differently, not only to others but to yourself.
DIALOGUE
We will have dialogue about your questions and concerns, and identify areas in which you wish to expand and develop. Throughout our dialogue, we will explore your understanding about how your state of mind either expands or limits who you are, what you do, and the possibilities you see.
REFLECTION
Reflective thinking is a state of mind, not a series of procedures or techniques. I'll ask you some questions that will help you explore your own thinking about relevant topics. The process of reflection gives you enough perspective to observe, examine, and question your beliefs, opinions, and values in a non-judgmental way.
INSIGHTS
Insights can only occur in a clear mind and they are a natural product of reflection. Their sudden clarity can be both practical and profound, and will be relevant and meaningful because they are your insights. Sustainable change in behavior is caused by insight because the thinking that produces behavior has changed.
EXPERIENCE
Between our sessions, you will be applying what you have learned and discovered in areas of your life where it resonates most or seems most relevant at the moment. Your understanding is not contingent upon anything or anyone.
The process of coaching is not linear so we will move among the areas listed above fluidly depending upon your need and curiosity, and topics relevant to you.
